@RobP

Neither Mortal Online or Darkfall is structured around 100% PVE, there is no "endgame" without the Clans fighting for position.

That being said the PVE in Darkfall is the best I've ever played in any MMO. Fighting mobs is actually fun and challenging even after months of playing.

People that are also primarily interested in PVE, trading and crafting should know that the -random- PK'ing is hottest in the newbie zones. Once you advance your character and join a clan that has property the pk'ing is going to be 90% organized raids for or against your clan.

The gameworld of Darkfall is 4-6x the size of all of WoW. Each Clan city has its own mob spawns and local resources nearby. If you are aware you could easily go weeks without getting PK'ed...

Darkfall isn't nearly as merciless as it seems... give it a try.

I still think it is a shame that games like DF and MO don't want to try to expand their player base by giving those that do not like ffa pvp a server but oh well.

The more I hear about and see darkfall I am amazed at how similar it is to the progenitor, Ultima Online.

Add in the ability to build houses wherever you want inworld and you have a winner.

I couldn't help but smile after I read your article. I think that you just might have discovered the magic that keeps people subscribed to this game, and what makes this little gem in the MMO world special.

Welcome to DF.

Admit it, there is something special knowing that your fighting for something important. In many MMOs a death to another player is nothing more than a short time penalty as you run back from a spawn point. In DF your not just fighting for pride, your not fighting for honour, your not fighting for points, ranks or renown. In DF your fighting for your stuff. Some jackass wants to steal all that gear you put so much work into getting. It might not be a lot of stuff, but god dam it its your stuff and he can't have it.

Gets the heart pumping!
