trickster

Trickster Online recently celebrated its 4th anniversary with in-game festivities and competitions. To finish off the events with a bang, SG Interactive has prepared a major content update for Trickter Online‘s players to feast upon. Keeping in mind the new player experience, the developers are rolling out updated maps, a compass guide for quests, and an overhauled resurrection system.

Chris Lee, CEO over at SG Interactive, has been listening closely to player feed back over the past few months. He explains, “We’re confident that the upcoming additions will make it easier than ever for new players to join in the fun, and are very excited to be revealing this update as we finish celebrating Trickster Online’s 4th Anniversary!” Tutorial pop-ups and detailed guidance systems are in place to assist the wary adventurer as he/she steps out from the new player zone for the first time. The new resurrection system will allow players to respawn at the exact location of death, though players at or above level 20 will incur an XP loss.

Check out the game site for more details.

Earthrise, an upcoming scifi-themed MMO from Masthead Studios, is gaining significant momentum in the anticipation of its launch. Touted as a sandbox title, Earthrise will shed the restraints of explicit class types in favor of a more open, skill-based system (think EvE or Darkfall). In this post-apocalyptic world, players will compete on the battlefield as well as the market, where crafting and the economy are just another means of carving your own destiny. PvP takes on a new flavor as well, allowing players to fight for certain factions or simply pursue a personal goal.

In anticipation of a Q4 release, Masthead Studios has released a brand new Earthrise website for us to explore. It’s certainly aesthetically pleasing, with a nice panoramic concept piece spread out behind a seductive female pistoleer. While the site is still pretty bare, there is an apt game description, as well as some news bits and a community portal. Also, if you haven’t already, throw your beta application in before it’s too late!

Dateline AzerothDecember 7, 2010 is the date everything changes across the world of Azeroth in Blizzard’s number one MMO, World of Warcraft, and there are no end of very good reasons why any self-respecting WoW player needs the Cataclysm expansion on Day One. Among the biggest draws of World of Warcraft’s third expansion is the inclusion of two new playable races: the savage Worgen joining the Alliance, and the mercenary Goblins siding with the Horde. While archeology, an increased level cap, new endgame content and a completely renovated Azeroth are intriguing, new playable races truly spice up this expansion.

Whether you’re for the Horde or Alliance for life, you need to know exactly what you’re getting into when you roll up that first goblin or worgen, and that starts with racial traits and class opportunities. While these abilities may not be quite etched in stone, racial abilities (commonly referred to as ‘racials’) will probably roll out like this:

We all know World Warcraft is the king of kings on the MMO world. Blizzard made such a great game and has taken care of it. Though some might say they don’t like the game anymore, the truth is that millions of players pay for it every month and it looks strong as a made-of-oak-wood staff.

Blizzard knows what it’s all about on the gaming business. They’ve made WOW to be a great MMO, even if it misses player housing and other features, but they were failing on the community part of it. Years ago, games like EQ2 set a community site, where players could check their characters, upload screenshots, check their statistics and more, Lord of the Rings Online has  mylotro.com site, for some similar features, but WOW is missing that feature completely. Now, though features like the aforementioned are missing still, a new community website with new services has been released.

Congratulations to all WOW players. Blizzard has set and release a new community website, where you can check all the details about the game, access to a lot of services, forums, contests and a future game guide under development at the moment.

If you’re interested on it, go to the official new community website for World of Warcraft.

Welcome everyone to a new chapter of MMOries of a Gamer, the weekly column where I tell you of my MMO life, telling you stories of many games I’ve played.

Last week, I left you wondering what would be the fate of two crazy adventurers, kind of lost into the Old Forest on Lord of the Rings Online. They made it out of the dangerous areas of the forest and just arrived on a grassy hill, with a house on it, when they heard someone singing,

“Hey dol, derry dol!”

Yes, dear friends, right there he was, Tom Bombadil.
