The MMO gaming world is complex. Usually, these type of games have different versions, depending on the continent where is being published, we all know which famous games I’m talking about. Some games are the same in the whole world, but published by different companies under an agreement with the original developer.

Earthrise will be published in Europe by Iceberg Interactive, as stated in a recent press release to announce the agreement between both companies.

“When we first laid eyes on Masthead Studios’ marvellous artwork for Earthrise, we were immediately convinced that this was a great title for us to add depth and diversity to our already promising MMO line-up. We set course on the MMO-sea earlier this year, we have been enjoying the journey so far, and think Earthrise will appeal to many MMO gamers out there.” says Erik Schreuder, CEO at Iceberg Interactive.

“We are excited to partner with Iceberg Interactive for publishing and distribution of Earthrise in Europe,” said Atanas Atanasov, producer of Earthrise and director of MastheadStudios.  “We are confident that the Iceberg team is truly dedicated to the commercial success of Earthrise, bringing our unique and compelling sandbox style gameplay to their established MMO fan base and we can’t wait for players to experience the world of Enterra first hand!”

Good news for the Europeans sci-fi MMO lovers, as they now know a company takes over the responsibility of bringing Earthrise to one of the most important MMO markets, behind the US. Masthead Studios and Iceberg Interactive agreement for Earthrise, shows things can be done in advance in case of future problems, avoiding what happened with certain fantasy game, inspired by certain British writer’s famous novels.

Recently, Bioware’s World Designer Eric Young, has posted a very interesting article on the Star Wars: The Old Republic website. The intention of Eric is to give SWTOR fans some insight about world designing, focusing on one of the most difficult places to design: Coruscant.

Usually, shaping terrains, adding buildings, trees and all you need to make a zone “come to live” is difficult, but imagine the effort needed to design Coruscant, a huge city world covering the whole planet.

Coruscant is the capital city of The Republic, and the design team wanted to do a good work, but take note that no other MMO has such a tremendous city on it. Eric states they begun with a very conservative approach to the project, but being unsatisfied they started to to become more and more ambitious, ending up with a result to be proud of.

You can read the full article on the official website of the game, where in addition to the SWTOR: Experience Coruscant you’ll find a very interesting community Q&A.

Perfect World Entertainment, continuing the idea of presenting members of the staff stating which classes they like, released a video featuring Forsaken World Product Manager, Clifton Chu. This time, the topic of this video is the Marksman class, the classic ranged fighter almost every MMO has, and liked by Clifton so much he states he’s going to be one, once the game launches.

Fair Game Header: Hox3

So here we are again, deep in December, the cynic’s most beloathed time of the year. After the punishing circus of rage and despair that has been 2010, I am, if possible, even more cynical than ever. By rights, I should be huddled in a corner, guzzling gin and threatening passersby with the awesome, shed-on-demand firepower of a disgruntled cat.

And yet… Despite all logic, somewhere, deep within the ossified recesses of my withered black heart, a tiny spark of humanity remains. And in a burst of uncharacteristic generosity, (that I fervently hope I’ll get over soon) I hereby bequest that spark to you, my fellow gamers, with love.

Hello everyone and welcome, once more, to another chapter of MMOries of a Gamer. This week, I’ll talk about one of the most thrilling features you can enjoy (or suffer) in almost every MMO available in the market: PvP (player vs. player combat.) This is a very popular feature with millions of fans; in fact there are a lot of players that simply ignore the PvE content to focus on PvP action fully.

Come along with me, after the jump, and let’s give the topic some thoughts on MMOries of a Gamer: PvP.

Good news, dear barbarians and other species; First batch of 2.1 patch is now live in FunCom’s Age of Conan, and with it a new seasonal event: A Bloody Solstice, where players get to help the Aesir with their Solstice festivities which have been disrupted by the Vanir. At first I thought of making this a special, but since the event is much shorter than I expected, we’ll be having a look at the rest of the patch content, some of which has already been revealed in previous posts here at MMOCrunch.com.

Walk with me, stranger, and let me tell you of all this.

Ravenwood Roundup HeaderOne of the most fun parts of creating a character on Wizard101 is choosing which school of magic your toon will use as they adventure throughout The Spiral. The Wizard101 website has a quiz for players to take to guide them toward which school would suit their playing style and/or reflect their real life personality. Rest assured, you can pick whatever school you want to play no matter what the quiz results are!

Each school has pros and cons, and no one school is right for everyone (although those dastardly Death School students from Ravenwood Radio disagree with me.) One of the chief things to remember when weighing the pros and cons is that the school you pick will significantly affect the base amount of health (aka “hit points”) your toon will have before equipment boosts.

Changyou.com announced the first PvE server for its MMO Zentia, is now available to better accommodate the growing community of this “charmingly hardcore” game. That’s a nice movement from the publisher, as not everyone likes to play the same way and, certainly, there’s a huge different from PvE to PvP servers.

“We received a lot of feedback from our growing community requesting a PvE server, so now we are very excited to present to you the first  Zentia PvE server. To celebrate the occasion, we are providing players with over $50,000 worth of prizes!”

The new server is named Spoon and will feature everything you can expect as a player, except Player Killing, the famous PK. From now, everyone can create a new character in this new PvE server, choosing among the 24 different immortal characters, with eight class systems the game offers. If you’re not the one for an open PvP server, this is your chance to scape!

In celebration of the new server and these special dates (X-mas) if you play Zentia you can be randomly selected to win 200 tokens. With these tokens, you can purchase a lot of different things in the Zentia Token Shop, but that’s not all, as the game’s team will be giving out $500 Amazon.com gift cards to four lucky players. The new PvE server for Zentia, comes with gifts.

Go to the official website for more information and good luck!
