If you’ve played Faxion Online, you’ve noticed that the game is fairly barebones compared to most MMOs out today. Having said that, UTV True Games’ PvP focused title makes up for a lack of typical MMO necessities with a new and innovative notification system that will affect how how combat is played out. Sometimes the fast-paced fighting in Faxion can leave you button-mashing and ultimately clueless as to what is going on. If you can relate to this notion, rejoice! New notification features will result in flashing “contextual” text as players execute different moves in battle. Jump past the cut to learn more.

Late last year, EVE Online launched the Incursion expansion that introduced a host of new features to its resident space pilots. CCP experimented with staggered releases for Incursion, spreading out its massive content that ranged from a new character creator to the arrival of Sansha’s Nation, a particularly nasty enemy faction, over two whole months.
This method of smaller but more frequent content releases and updates proved popular among the player base that it was adopted as a new paradigm by CCP. The new Incursion 1.2 update released today continues in this vein, introducing minor but much-appreciated “quality of life” improvements.
In broad strokes, Incursion 1.2 smoothed out the kinks of clone usage, removed user interface annoyances like having to open containers before being able to drop items into them, and minor balancing adjustments to Incursions. For the full list of the roughly 20 convenient upgrades that came with Incursion 1.2, read the full dev blog notes here.

Staying safe online is something that has always been really important to me, from keeping your personal information safe, to keeping your computer safe, to staying safe in games. It’s not always easy, either, as the people who want to do bad things are always coming up with new and tricky ways to get you to give them your address or phone number, or install their malicious software, or to hijack your character and take your equipment or gold or whatever. Fortunately, even though there are always going to be a lot of ways people can try to trick you, there are only a few things they’re trying to get from you, and once you know about them and their tricks it becomes much easier to recognize them and protect yourself against their schemes.
Today, Gamerkraft has announced their new F2p title, Aida Arenas. Billed as an MMORPG “Brawler”, Aida Arenas boasts a highly accessible environment where players can explore dungeons, fight monsters and battle friends through beat-em-up inspired mechanics.
Created by Korean developer GalaxyGate, Aida Arenas is set in an anime-esque world, complete with whimsical cartoon graphics and a light-hearted approach to, well, beating people up. According to Matthew Denomme, Marketing Manager for Game Bridger Entertainment (the publisher behind AA), the game should appeal to both hardcore and casual players with an intuitive and accessible control scheme.
Aida Arenas is slated to launch in the first quarter of this year, bringing with it a new entry to the Brawler subgenre. Be sure to check out the new game trailer at the official site, where you can also sign up to be among the first to know about launch!
This week, Dragonica Online players can expect loads of new content in the form of a brand new expansion. The F2P title sets itself apart through its vibrant 3d manga-style presentation, along with a refreshing action-oriented combat system. Gala Networks Europe, the publisher behind such popular titles as Allods Online, Flyff and Rappelz, are gearing up for the expansion to go live tomorrow the 15th.
Among the more prominent features of the Dragonica expansion, Awakening of the Ice Dragon, are a raised level cap of 75 and the brand new continent of Pagosia. As per the expansion’s title, we anticipate icy expeditions filled with new sets of both hero and daily quests, which should supplement the mild leveling gap after 62. Jump past the cut for more details on the impending updates.
Today Riot Games, the publisher and developer behind League of Legends, announced details about their newest champion Maokai. More information and lore about Maokai can be found on the League of Legends website.
Over at Star Wars: The Old Republic’s HoloNet, The Great Hyperspace War is a subject bearing much examination; one thing is for certain: it is the single most detrimental conflict to confront the Republic in recorded history. The events of this war have spread far and wide through time and space, even influencing the current military and political positioning of the Jedi. Fortunately, the fickle solidarity of the Sith collapsed in on itself, and won the Republic an early victory – or so it seemed. Arguably as a result of poor decision-making on the part of the Supreme Chancellor and the Republic, the Sith headquarters on Korriban was pursued even after the weakened Sith remnants had been driven back indefinitely.

Greetings fellow adventurers, and welcome once more to this corner of FunCom’s Age of Conan world. Last week I could not update Hyrkanian Insight due to technical problems which, incidentally, are not yet really solved; only patched temporarily. Whatever, here I am, back with renewed energy.
Today, I want to bring to your attention some of the work being done by the AoC Team, what’s new inside and outside the game, through the community updates from last week and the one published yesterday. Some very interesting things can be extracted between the lines along with a lot of speculation and guess-work.
Come aboard for some rumors and facts…

What’s that noise you hear? It’s the rattling at the “front gate,” i.e. the Wizard101 login screen. See, that gate has been locked for some account holders whose accounts have been banned due to in-game exploits. And that humming noise behind the rattling? It’s the dull roar of approval for Kings Isle from the players who have honored the terms of service and, as such, are still enjoying life ITS (player shorthand for “In The Spiral”).
Since my time with Salem at the Paradox Convention last month, I’ve been preoccupied with all the possibilities this game has to offer. As I sat with Bjorn Johannessen and Fredrick Tolf, the heart & soul behind Seatribe, I was amazed by the sheer volume of great ideas they had for the upcoming sandbox title. Among the more prominent features of Salem include perma-death, terraforming, and skill-based progression.
