MicroVolts features fast paced, third person shooter action and pits players against each other in a secret battle that has been waged and going unnoticed right in our own backyard for years. No one knows for sure when or where the first toy declared war but rumor has it that the uprising began with four original limited edition figures, code named MicroVolts. Battle lines were drawn when Naomi, Knox, Pandora, and C.H.I.P.–the prototypes a–were soon joined by an endless number of modified versions. Now, toy figures around the world are engaged in an all-out war for valuable battery resources and supremacy of the Micro World. All we can do now is stay out of their way and wait fora champion to be declared!

With a ton of weapons, inventive character designs, and a huge list of customization features, MicroVolts is destined to invigorate and re-energize the Free2play space. Intuitive controls and a third person view make the game easy to play and fun for both newcomers and veterans of shooter games.

We are very pleased with the current state of the game,” says CEO Trond Arne Aas. “We had the opportunity to show the game live to the press at last week’s Game Developers Conference, and we look forward to start testing the game with an external audience in the next couple of months.

Guild Wars 2

Finally, right? We’ve been waiting for some time to hear about some specifics surrounding crafting and gathering in Guild Wars 2. In keeping with a philosophy of accessibility and cooperation, ArenaNet has chosen to make certain decisions regarding non-combat professions in the upcoming sequel to the hit B2P title, Guild Wars.

Chief among these design goals is the decision to make gathering nodes (yes, they will be nodes) unlimited in supply. This way, players that spot a copper vein in the distance can rest assured that it will remain forgeable by the time they approach it. Through this, player rivalry and frustration is completely eliminated, and entire questing/raiding groups can benefit from any given node. Don’t you hate it when you’re scouting the usual node spots, only to find that another player has beaten you to the punch? So does ANet, apparently.

Rift Endless Court

The future looks dim, the horizon appears bleak, and the sky takes on an unnatural shade as the Endless Court stalks Telara in search of unfortunate victims from which to conjure undead servants. What’s more, the scourge hungers for Sourcestone power with which to grow in strength and malice. Deepstrike Mine has been taken, and Scarlet Gorge looks like a mass grave of sadistic foulness. Dark forces that once hid themselves away are now fearless to be seen by any mortal, and prey on all that cross their paths. Once again, the heroes of Rift are put to the test…

Faxion Online

Where Faxion Online may fall short in AAA polish, it makes up for (and then some) in spirit and creativity. The new free-to-play title from UTV True Games explores the heavy subject matter of heaven and hell in a way that allows for light-hearted gameplay and interaction. With robust PvP combat and an ever-evolving storyline surrounding the Seven Deadly Sins, Faxion is set to make a lasting impression on lore- and combat-junkie alike.

The gates will open tomorrow, March 10th after one final server wipe and reset. Faxion Open Beta players will immediately be able to start fresh and explore news ways to wreak havoc and secure their way to total domination (or deification?). Territory control and open world PvP are high on the list of prominent features, along with a meaningful multi-classing system that will ensure that no angels or demons are exactly alike. Moreover, UTV True Games will be stopping by the PAX East convention in Boston to show off the goods.

Runescape

This week, Jagex Games is celebrating RuneScape’s clan population with a month of activies, loot, and bonus XP! The in-game events will be carried out on a weekly basis, with each week during March being themed around a different clan activity. Events and Q&A sessions will be scattered around, with the RuneScape support team and notable clan members in attendance.

The next bonus XP event will begin on March 11th; details on the leveling multiplier can be found at the official site. The celebration officially begins today, March 8th, and finishes off with a giant closing party on April 3rd.

Paul Meyer, Community Manager at RuneScape, shares his thoughts,

“Some of our larger clans have more than 4000 members so it’s really exciting that we can focus an entire month celebrating them. For those in the community who are not already a member of a clan or who want to find out what clans are all about, then this is the perfect time to start!”

MapleStory

Veterans of MapleStory will be glad to hear that they have new options open to them with Nexon’s AfterShock update. Some notable features of the update include a revitalized guild system that addresses some of the glaring issues that players have brought to light. As a result, we can look forward to a more streamlined guild creation, recruiting, and management experience. In addition, Nexon has introduced an exciting new boss encounter in the form of the legendary Castle of Von Leon. Von Leon is a fearsome feline lieutenant — a Lion, to be specific — who answers only to the Black Mage himself. Challenge him in his mountain-top fortress, if you dare!

The most important feature of MapleStory’s latest update is the ability to create an Ultimate Explorer, who has the ability to skip the first 50 levels of play. The catch? You must have previously reached level 120 on a Cygnus Knight. A special alliance has been formed between the Knights and the Explorers, allowing this rare breed of advanced warriors to come into being. Finally, the Cygnus Knights themselves will enjoy new powers and skills, which should come in handy against that pesky red-maned cat.
