The upcoming patch to Atlantica Online has been announced and details have been revealed.

To start off the Yellow River Ruins dungeon has been destroyed and is no more. However a new dungeon type has been introduced called “Hero Dungeons”, which are meant for high ranking players beginning at level 120. Players can travel back to past areas such as the Forest of Spirits and the Yellow River Ruins and face new enemies far more powerful then before.

The patch introduces two Hero Dungeons to start off, Chaotic Yosun Temple and Red Forest of Spirits. Players should beware, once you enter these dungeons you cannot see any of your opponents and they will attack you in timed intervals so make sure you heal often.

In each Hero Dungeon players will meet one of two new NPCs, Lian and Wonni, who will have quests that will reset every Monday and Friday.

Gametrailer.com has the exclusive intro trailer to The Secret World. The video shows off a lot of gameplay and gives a basic rundown of the three secret societies, Dragon, Illuminati and Templars. I’m partial to cinematic trailers, but it was still pretty good.

From The Secret World website,

The map at the end of the video also gives you a unique glimpse into the Secret War experience launching tomorrow!

Check it out The Secret World intro trailer below after the jump.

To really understand where I’m coming from with this review of League of Legends, one has to go back to where I was first introduced to the MOBA genre, with Warcraft 3. War3 was released at a time when I was getting a little bored of RTS games so I spent a lot of my time trying out all the community created mods for it, one of which was a MOBA mod.

Now this was 8-9 years ago so I can’t really recall if the mod was DotA, some early version of it or perhaps another MOBA all together, I just remember not liking it. There were no instructions, no info, you basically loaded the mod and had to figure it out for yourself. Which is actually no different than 99% of all the other mods in WC3, but since I wasn’t getting into it, I didn’t feel like putting in the time to learn it. I ended up playing a few rounds, but in the end it was confusing and I was getting my ass kicked by players who knew what they were doing so I moved on to another mod and never went back.

Fast forward a few years to when I first heard of League of Legends. I read it was based on a Warcraft 3 mod called DotA and when I saw some of the videos I lost interested instantly. Then a few weeks ago when Riot Games announced it had hit 15 million registered players, I thought, hmm, there’s got to be something more to this game then that War 3 mod I played so many year before. So after about 2 weeks of contemplating I decided to finally download it.

Last week we reported on a rumor that the entire Faxion team was laid off and it appears the rumors was true. Today on the Faxion forums the official announcement was made by a UTV employed confirming that Faxion will indeed be closing its door shortly.  Below is part of the official statement.

It’s with an extremely heavy heart that I write to inform you of the upcoming discontinuation of Faxion live services. This week, we will begin the process of ending live service, starting with the immediate discontinuation of store purchases, online registration, and client downloads, with final server closure scheduled to commence within the next 30 days.

While Faxion might be shutting down for now, it seems that most MMO’s these days have a way of rising from the dead, so I’m sure that this won’t be the last time we hear of Faxion.

It looks like Blizzard’s new Diablo 3 community site went up about 25 hrs ago and already has a couple of posts on it. As one would expect you can find the usual content on the site such as class descriptions, wallpapers, screenshots, QA and the official Diablo 3 forum.

The latest post gives a rundown of what Blizzard presented at last week’s Gamescom convention in Germany, although there’s nothing really significant there other then some images and a video.

The release of the D3 site points to the impending approach of the beta, which still has no solid date, but hopefully will soon.

It seems Wargaming.net is cornering the MMO market on the World War 2 era by land, air and sea after its recent announcement of its third MMO game World of Battleships.

With the arrival of World of Warplanes and World of Battleships, it’s going to be pretty exciting to see what they come up with in regards to integrating all three titles.  Wagaming.net has already announced that players from all three will be able to “distribute resources” amongst themselves and while economic integration is a great first step, I’d really love to see more.

Last week in an interview with Massively, Wargaming.net project manager Alexander Zezulin did mention that combat integration between WoT and WoWP would not be possible, but they would be able to interact on the Clan Wars level, which means Ultimate Conquest,

Planes and tanks will interact on the Clan Wars level only where tanks will control ground provinces, while planes will fight for the air dominance over them. Due to the different scale of maps in World of Tanks andWorld of Warplanes, it’s hardly possible to see tanks vs. planes battles in the future.

I would imagine that WoBS would follow suit. For those of you unfamiliar with Ultimate Conquest, it allows players to extend the combat onto a real-world map where clans can gain control of areas by the use of combat within the World of Tanks game. So it seems that all three titles would share one main world map with each game having influence on the control of map locations.

It seems Wargaming has something for everyone. I’m not much of a fan of tanks, which are normally my least favorite level in any FPS, and I’ve never really played any battleship type of game, so I don’t even know what to expect with that, but World of Warplanes has my blood pumping. Something about fast paced aerial combat just does it for me. I gotta dust off my flight-stick.
