So it seems Blizzard have been sending out the first screenshots of the female Worgen,  the new Alliance race in the upcoming Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft. (link at the bottom of this post) Bear in mind these are still a work in progress and are subject to change.

There are several pictures of the model in different armor classes and poses. The screenshots can be found below courtesy of WorldofRaids

EVE Online are bringing back the popular “Live Events” for their upcoming expansion. According to the EVE homepage:

All in-game events will be personally run by EVE Online developers and, for the immediate future, every other facet of event production will be handled in-house too.

These events are serving a few purposes primarily to kick-start the new storyline of the expansion, they’re also attempting to “Reach out and grab players who may not otherwise be aware of EVE’s rich storyline, and of course, to breathe some more life into that world.

CCP games are making these Live EventsInteractive” meaning players may be able to change the outcome of these events through their actions. Some of these events are already starting in certain sectors across the EVE universe and players are encouraged to check them out.

The Saga of Ryzom, more commonly known as “Ryzom” has made MMO history by becoming the first commercial MMORPG to become completely open source. The Ryzom source code consists of  ”over 2 million lines of code, over 20,000 textures and thousands of 3D objects.”

While anyone can now use anything they wish from the source code it has been mentioned on the Ryzom Forums that the game will still be carrying on as it is with its pay-to-play subscription.

For you as a Ryzom player, nothing changes. The game continues to be pay-to-play to help pay for the cost of development and running of Ryzom.

One can only wonder how, if at all, this will help the game as the inevitable free copy-cats start to show.
