Our favorite gaming market site EpicNPC is giving away 15 closed beta keys today for the upcoming ESO stress test this weekend. The next closed beta is tomorrow from Saturday February 8th between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM EST, however these keys will give you access to all the betas after tomorrow as well.

They’ll be posting the Elder Scrolls Online closed beta keys publicly on their Facebook page so it’s a first-come-first-server type of giveaway. Good luck to everyone.

This guide is specifically for the new trading-card-game (TCG) HearthStone, but really it can be applied to any beta key.

While it might seem fairly simple to buy or sell a beta key, there’s lots of scammers looking to take advantage since it’s very difficult to prove if a key has been used or not before the sale. The number one problem that arises is once you get the key it’s either fake or has already been used. To help you out I’ve outline what you should do before you buy a beta key so you can verify it’s real and hasn’t already been used.

If the seller you are buying from already has good feedback, you probably can trust the key is real and can skip the below steps. However if it’s someone with less than 5 feedbacks, I would highly recommend following all the steps.

It seems Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn players have found an exploit that allows players to level their characters within minutes by taking advantage of a major database exploit that allows players to edit their characters info directly.

The exploit was found via the Lau scripting that FFXIV uses and JSON which is an API query used to retrieve character info for the Lodestone armory, which is normally a one way street. You can make request to get info on your character, but you can’t send requests to change the character. It seems with this exploit you can. Players can send commands to LAU to directly edit their characters.

Players can level their characters instantly to the cap or give themselves 50 billion gil if they wish. Players can also take any item they currently have and send a request to change that item into anything they want.

There have been some major exploits in the past, like Neverwinter over the summer that required them to roll back their servers to fix the economy after players were able to create billions out out of thin air, but this one makes that look like nothing.

This exploit will not doubt require a full server roll back to fix the game and as of this point Square Enix have not even acknowledged there is a problem.

That’s right 40-50% of all Runescape players buy gold from black market sellers every month. Based on that figure that most likely means that the percentage of RS players who have bought gold and one time or another is much much higher. I mean if half of your player base is buying gold every single month, then you’re probably looking at 80-90% of Runescape players that have bought gold at least.

To combat this Jagex has just announced Runescape Bonds, similar to Eve Online’s PLEX system. Basically players buy bonds for real money, then can use those bonds to pay for their monthly subscription. Players that make lots of gold can buy bonds allowing them to play for free. Bonds are also freely tradable so you can also use them as a currency to buy items from other players.

Jagex is hoping this will kill the gold farming business that has thrived for so long and improve the economy for all.

Looks like GTA 5′s online mode named GTA Online will have a microtransction store where players will be able to spend real money for in-game money.  First posted on REDDIT it seems an XML file showed 4 options for player to buy game cards worth $100,000 to $1.25 million for real life cash, although prices were not included.

This could turn Rockstar into a cash cow in the say way World of Warcraft has been for Blizzard for the last decade. The barrier between real money and in-game money is fading fast in the gaming industry as studios who once proclaimed real money ruins the game experience are now jumping in with both feet into that same market.

With Loot 2.0 on it’s way Blizzard has finally decided to pull the plug on the auction house, both gold and real money, allowing Diablo 3 to get back to it’s roots. Players will once again have to create trade channels and scour for better loot and gear directly with other players as it was meant to be.

Of course this means the black market for Diablo 3 will explode once the auction house is shut down on March 18 2014. Many players who were making real money playing D3 will obviously not want to stop simply because Blizzard no longer wants the AH. Many players who normally wouldn’t have anything to do with RMT have also now gotten a feel for it, so it’s likely that a larger percentage of players will now dabble in the black market as compared to D2.

Being involved in account selling I’ve come to notice that League of Legends is one of the riskier games to buy, sell or trade in. There are many factors involved, but before I discuss the steps you can take to protect yourself, I’ll first discuss the problems.

There are multiple issues with why buying a LoL account might not be safe and they all stem from the account settings page and Riot’s recovery procedure.

First is the fact the LoL support account is a separate login from the main LoL account. So when you buy an account you can’t see if there have been any issues with it. Even if you are given the support account, you will not be able to tell if it’s the right one. The seller can just create a new one and tell you that it’s it.

Second the buyer cannot see the email address on the account. This is important because knowing the original email address greatly increases security. Since you cannot see this, the seller can change the email address to something else before selling it, then use the original email address to recover the account after the sale.

Thirdly there is no way for either party, buyer or seller, to prove that an account was stolen after a sale. No emails are sent my Riot which means it cannot be determined if the seller stole the account back or if the buyer just changed the login info and is lying to try to get their money back. Furthermore Riot Support will not disclose whether someone contacted them to recall the account, so this is a dead end.

The time might come eventually when you either want to quit playing World of Warcraft or maybe you just want to reroll, but not start over, so what do you do? Well if you’re not against selling your WoW account you can make a few bucks off of it depending what type of gear, titles, mounts and pets you have. Then use that money to buy yourself a brand new level 90 character. However selling an account isn’t as easy or very safe if you’ve never done it before.

  • Where do I sell my account?
  • Is the safe site?
  • What info do I give the buyer?

We all know buying gold in World of Warcraft is big business and a big portion of players, whether they admit it or not, do buy wow gold from time to time. If you happen to be one of those players, you’ll be happy to hear that EpicNPC has a spiffy new WoW gold store that compares the prices from lots of sellers to provide the cheapest prices to buyers.

The store lists gold prices from members, many of which are major gold sellers and have websites of their own, displays their verification status and feedback rating, then the price of gold they are selling. The buyer simply needs to click the buy link to make their order.
