During a GStar 2011 press conference today, NCsoft announced a third title in the Lineage series called Lineage Eternal: Twilight Resistance. This is not Lineage III, but a Diablo like game with a top down point of view which uses a click and hold combat system, mainly used for spells, instead of the hack and slash style that Diablo uses.

It’s unclear if this is an MMO title or a multiplayer online RPG, however Lineage Eternal will feature both PvE and PvP combat with large scale warfare.

Lineage Eternal will feature destructible environments and interactive objects. For example a fire spell will ignite nearby plant life, players will be able to climb on top of fallen enemies to help climb over walls or throw a hook onto a pillar in order to swing across a destroyed bridge.

Currently there are three announced classes, Warrior, Mage and Elemental Archer and the game is set for closed beta testing in late 2012.

Below we have some screenshots courtesy of Thisisgame.com.

Funcom is kicking off the week by announcing Week of the Dragon, a full weekdevoted to the Dragon society in their upcoming MMORPG The Secret World.

The Dragon is the least known of the three societies, being based in Seoul, Korea, it is perhaps the most mysterious. The Illuminate and Templar are much better known as their secret societies have been the subject of well known movies, books and video games in the past.

To keep off the week long event, Funcom has released 6 new screenshots featuring the Dragon society which you can view after the jump. Senior Producer and Director Ragna Tornquist has this to say about the Dragon,

Revealing new things about the Dragon is exciting for us, as the very nature of the Dragon is to stay hidden and create chaos behind the scenes to reach their ultimate goal. Not only is this a great opportunity to shed some light on the Dragon, but for a huge number of people who have already joined the Dragon through our initiation test, it’s an opportunity to find out more about their chosen secret society.

Later on this week Funcom will release additional artwork, a new video, information and will wrap things up with a Facebook Q&A session on their FB page.

Today Perfect World Entertainment officially announced their next big update or maybe expansion, Storms of War, for the popular MMORPG Forsaken World. Aside from a few screenshots, which you can view after the jump, no other information was revealed, so this could be a large update or could be the next expansion.

Being launched in Eastern markets before coming to the West, Forsaken World is quite a bit ahead in China than it is here, so a few forum members went ahead and found what they believe to be the feature list for Storms of War in China, which can be viewed below.

  • Fissure instances are now event timed. You can’t just T menu whenever you feel like it or just make a party and go.
  • Another slot for GT added, 0:00- 1:30 (YES THAT’S AM).
  • “Happiness Boxes” that can give a card. Get enough of these cards (or maybe you just need one?) and you can turn it into a NPC to achieve V.I.P. status. Lasts 7 days.
  • V.I.P. status includes (but not limited to):
  • -Town Teleport has a cooldown of 5 minutes.
  • -Memory Fruit are consumed once every four minutes and give 4 times their normal exp at normal intervals (sorry if I made this sound confusing). 240 fruit limit.
  • -Receive MP and HP regen buff (or just a better natural healing buff).
  • -Chance of receiving a different gem when recasting (not sure. May be referring to combining).
  • -ALWAYS receive a positive buff when praying to the gods (no “the gods hear you, but remain silent”).
  • If you don’t do World Luck/ Personal luck quests after a certain amount of time, you can stack them. Most you can do in one day is seven.
  • Mentored players can pick up 30 glories instead of 20.
  • More time for 3v3 and 6v6 arena slots.
  • Increased difficulty of some 75-80 dungeon.
  • Better or more rewards for LCS.

None of this information is confirmed, so don’t take it as fact. You can check out some screenshots below.

Today Blizzard released a preview of World of Warcraft patch 4.3 and of the new upcoming raid, which will pit players against the massive Deathwing. For the most part, the preview talks about the lore behind Deathwing and how the heroes of Azeroth will finally get their chance to bring him down, but some information about the actual raid was revealed.

First it will be a 10 and 25-person raid with three levels of difficulty to choose from, like any other raid, but that’s where similarities end. The assault on Deathwing will be massive and is comprised of two unique encounters taking place across the lands of Azeroth. Players will take to the skies, parachuting out of soaring gunships as they attack Deathwind mid-flight and try to strip away his armor exposing his molten flesh beneath.  Those that succeed will be plunged in the depths of the Maelstrom for the final encounter.

No other info was revealed however we have some images below of the Deathwing Dragon Soul raid below.

Yesterday Blizzard released Part One of their Patch 4.3 Dungeon Preview, which revealed details about the upcoming patch and the three new Heroic dungeons, specifically about the End Time dungeon. Parts two and three have now been released as well and we have a preview of the other dungeons coming in World of Warcraft patch 4.3.

The second dungeon players will encounter is called the “Well of Eternity”, which takes place ten thousand years in the past in the night elven capital city of Zin-Azshari. While providing aid to a much younger Tyrande and Illidan against the Highborne and Burning Legion, players must steal the Dragon Soul floating above the Well, but in order to do so players will have to defeat some lethal enemies including Peroth’arn, Azshara, and Mannoroth and Varo’then.

Dungeon three, called “Hour of Twilight”, takes players back to the present where having shattered the infinite dragonlight and obtained the Dragon Soul, they head to Wyrmrest Temple where they rendezvous with the blue, green, red and bronze dragonflights. However in order to reach the temple players will have to battle through the armies of the Twilight Hammer. Once there players will face-off against bosses such as Arcurion, Asira Dawnslayer and Archbishop Benedictus.

Below we have pics for both patch 4.3 dungeons.

The next World of Warcraft patch is heading this way and this time the heroes of Azeroth are planning on bringing down Deathwing himself, but in order to do so they must first acquire the Dragon Soul.

In patch 4.3, players will gain access to three new Heroic five-man dungeons to aid the Aspects and other heroes as they continue to fight against Deathwing, the Twilight’s Hammer, the armies of the Burning Legions and Highborne, even time itself.

The dungeons will be setup in sequential order so players will have to unlock access to new areas by completing the prerequisite areas. New epic loot, including new dungeon sets, will be available in these new Heroic dungeons and will be dropped by defeating the bosses in each dungeon. The new sets are not broken down by class and contain no set bonuses, they’re purely for cosmetic purposes.

The three new dungeons will take players to the past, present, and future as they try to obtain the Dragon Soul. In part one of this 4.3 preview, we are introduced to the “End Time” dungeon which takes place in the future where Deathwing rules over the lands and the heroes of Azeroth have failed.

Players will travel to a future Dragonblight where they will have to confront four familiar leaders who are now warped and corrupted by time, Sylvanas, Tyrande, Jaina and Baine. Each time a group enters the dungeon, two of the four leaders will be chosen at random and once they have been defeated, the maniacal figure blocking Nozdormu’s vision will be revealed at the Bronze Dragonshrine.

None of the Dragon Aspects could have predicted what entity would have such power to interrupt the sight of the Timeless One… the ability to create a new and infinite dragonflight. Only by destroying a mysterious dragon known as Murozond will you give Azeroth’s protectors the opportunity to avoid the potential outcome to which your eyes bear witness.

Below we have some  screenshots of WoW patch 4.3 and the End Time dungeon.

Wargaming.net launched the official website today for World of Warplanes featuring the first in-game screenshots of their upcoming WWII combat flight sim MMO game.

World of Warplanes will take place in the same era as Wargaming’s other military MMO game World of Tanks and will feature a wide range of warbirds. Pilots can choose from three main warplane classes – single-engine light fighters capable of engaging enemies in close dogfights, heavy fighters with their deadly straight attacks, and strafing aircrafts, the fearsome threat for ground targets.

Players will be able to build virtual pilot careers and fly planes from several key eras, staring from 1930’s with biplanes and up to Korean War jet fighters that led the way to modern air forces.

Every plane will feature multiple variations of ammo types, engines, and other crucial modules, and their various combinations will allow to pick the optimal configuration for the most effective behavior in combat.

After the jump you can view the first in-game screenshots of WoWP. (I was going to use WoW, but I think some other MMO already uses that ;) )
