GTA Online will have a store
Looks like GTA 5′s online mode named GTA Online will have a microtransction store where players will be able to spend real money for in-game money. First posted on REDDIT it seems an XML file showed 4 options for player to buy game cards worth $100,000 to $1.25 million for real life cash, although prices were not included.
This could turn Rockstar into a cash cow in the say way World of Warcraft has been for Blizzard for the last decade. The barrier between real money and in-game money is fading fast in the gaming industry as studios who once proclaimed real money ruins the game experience are now jumping in with both feet into that same market.
Of course Rockstar’s system is a one way street with players only being able to purchase in-game money, but not withdraw. This of course opens up a black market for those looking to make some real-life cash for playing. For those people there’s EpicNPC and their new GTA Online forum for precisely that, plus you can sell your entire account if you want.
