The next expansion to Dragonica Online was announced today by Gala Networks Europe and will be called New Origin. The new expansion promises to be the biggest content update yet which will feature new mountable pets and a brand new playable race, the first new race ever.

The new race will include a new playable class who’s skill pertain to summoning and other magical attributes.  The new class will only be available to players level 20 and above and a second new class for the new race will also be announced sometime soon.

The mountable pets system will allow players to use their current pets as mounts as well as deploy them in battle and there will also be new pets introduces.

The New Origin expansion will be launched sometime in September, but will not include the anticipated Production System as there have been balancing issues.  After the jump we have some screenshots of New Origin expansion and the new pets and race.

This week, Dragonica Online players can expect loads of new content in the form of a brand new expansion. The F2P title sets itself apart through its vibrant 3d manga-style presentation, along with a refreshing action-oriented combat system. Gala Networks Europe, the publisher behind such popular titles as Allods Online, Flyff and Rappelz, are gearing up for the expansion to go live tomorrow the 15th.

Among the more prominent features of the Dragonica expansion, Awakening of the Ice Dragon, are a raised level cap of 75 and the brand new continent of Pagosia. As per the expansion’s title, we anticipate icy expeditions filled with new sets of both hero and daily quests, which should supplement the mild leveling gap after 62. Dragonica US will be undergoing some major changes. Dragonica will be transferred to WarpPortal. WarpPortal offers many F2P games, including: Ragnarok Online, ROSE Online and Requiem: Memento Mori and will be proud to add Dragonica to it’s roster. The good news is that all account information will be transferred over to this new service, meaning no starting over and you can get straight back into the game. However if you don’t wish to use this service, your account will be permanently deleted.

This change will only effect the US version due to different management. European players won’t need to worry about the change. Keep up to date with the transfer here.

The system is in place as of today and will include a brand new quest chain for any newlyweds, which gives rewards for couples who complete them. Calling all low level Dragonica players, the launch of a new dungeon, The Temple of Water, will soon be here. The latest dungeon will be unveiled to European players between the levels of 26-30 on February 4, 2010. In addition to the Temple of Water, Drakos Dungeon reopens to all players level 58- 65. The reopening of Drakos Dungeon could possibly correlate to the Temple of Water inhabitants fury, but the only way of knowing is playing .
