Vindictus has released a new video showcasing a controllable golem. In the video we can see Evie, an upcoming character, in several combat situations. The stunning thing is that she’s able to summon a golem that forms itself using the objects surrounding it. This makes the golem unique each time it’s summoned. To create the golem, Evie needs the proper skill and a summoning gem that grants her a single golem, being usable only once per dungeon. The golem will lose its powers after some time, leaving Evie alone but, seeing what she’s able to do, I wouldn’t worry about her too much.

SOEs DC Universe Online has some good news about one the icons of the game: Wonder Woman. The superheroine is getting some love from the devs and she looks great in the newly presented screenshots. Basically, we can see her displaying the powers she has, while fighting several villains in some action shots, and posing for eternity in a well presented collection of concept art and modeling pics.

The style DC Universe Online’s Wonder Woman shows seems to be perfect for the state-of-the-art physics engine the game uses, respecting the original comic look and details. We can get a glimpse of what she can do in the game as well, letting us all know you better not cross her path if you’re an enemy.

THE CHARACTER:
Wonder Woman is one of the classics of DC Universe. The superheroine created by William Moulton Marston first appeared in All Star Comics #8 in 1941. She’s an Amazon who represents the ideals of love, peace and sexual equality… a champion of justice. She has many powers, including superhuman strength, super-speed and the like. But what I like most is the Lasso of truth, a magic rope that forces anyone bound by it to tell  the truth.

Looking at the pics, I’m not sure if it’s better to fight her or to support her when the game ships… Who’s gonna pay attention to the combat when she’s  around?

The doors to chaos have been opened. The self-proclaimed next-generation MMO, Land of Chaos Online, was unveiled today and immediately announced that the game would be receiving additional content in the form of three more playable characters next month.

These newcomers to the roster of heroes will bring the game’s tally of adventurers (or marauders, as the backstories for each character read differently) up to a total of 15.

Some of the favourites such as Merino, Foxlady and RandyRozz have new, alternate costumes on the way; these can be seen in the screenshots collection a little further down and really bring out the game’s graphical attention to detail.

UPDATE:  All 500 keys went are gone.  They sure went fast!  Stay tuned for more info on this game and others.

MMOCrunch is glad to announce we are giving away closed beta keys for MicoVolts, Rock Hippo Productions’ much anticipated upcoming free-to-play MMOTPS (Third-person shooter).

Be the first to enter the Micro World battlefield as you take control of your “toy soldier”, and battle for battery power and wage war against other toys. Think Toy Story, but instead of making nice with Buzz Lightyear, players will want to battle him for supremacy of Andy’s room. Players can choose between four distinct toy character types and use a wide range of fun and destructive weapons to dispatch their toy enemies.

  • Naomi – A charming high school girl toy figure whose friendly shell proves looks can be deceiving.
  • Knox – An intimidating and bulky hip hop action figure with a heart of gold.
  • Pandora – An evil trickster doll who seduces her prey before destroying them.
  • C.H.I.P. – The “Complex Humanoid Interchangeable Parts”. A mechanized and headstrong Stikfas figure.

If you’ve ever created mini fantasy wars with your toys as a kid, you’ll want to get your hands on this beta. “To infinity and destroy!”

To get your beta key (they will go quickly) visit our MicroVolts beta sign-up page and grab one fast. For more information on MicoVolts you can visit their official website or you can also read our previous articles.

Perfect World Entertainment, creators of Forsaken World, Heroes of Three Kingdoms and Battle of the Immortals, have announced the development of Swordsman Online (working title). Swordsman Online will be based upon the martial arts fiction of writer Louis Cha, writings that have already been adapted into film versions. Alan Chen, CEO of Perfect World Entertainment, made this statement: “Swordsman Online highlights our commitment to constantly push the industry envelope and what it means to be a free-to-play game. Players should never have to settle or compromise on game quality regardless of business model and we want players to expect more from their MMOs.” Fine sentiments, though we’ll have to wait and see what they actually mean.

As previously mentioned, a brand new Star Wars: The Old Republic cinematic trailer debuted today at the EA E3 2010 press conference. Set in the warzone of Alderaan, the planet destroyed in the original Star Wars trilogy, it depicts the desperate battle of one soldier of the Republic and his forces against the might of the Sith Empire, led by the Sith villain who made his debut with the first cinematic trailer. This trailer, made by the same Blur Studio as created the first, has pushed my already feverish anticipation of the game to unimagined heights, and I suspect it will for you too.

In a somewhat surprising appearance, BioWare was at the EA E3 2010 press conference with some new details regarding Star Wars: The Old Republic. SWTOR, which was previously only thought to be published by LucasArts, is apparently now also falling under the umbrella of EA Partners, due no doubt to the fact that BioWare is a subsidiary of Electronic Arts.

The first and most exciting announcement made was that every player in The Old Republic will receive their own customisable starship! At this point, I almost stopped listening as I mentally decorated by private spacecraft, which the presenters actually referred to as a “home base” for players. Next up was the slightly more expected news that SWTOR will feature PvP warzones, in which players can fight for their chosen faction to dominate their enemies. The first of these to be revealed is Alderaan, doomed future home of Princess Leia.

Finally, a new cinematic trailer was debuted to the world, created by the same Blur Studio that orchestrated the first trailer. It showed a great battle on the aforementioned warzone of Alderaan, and depicted the sith villain seen in the first trailer before he had donned his mask. Rest assured that the new trailer will be making its way to MMOCrunch’s YouTube channel just as soon as it is available, and join me in praying to the Force that the Old Republic’s release comes swiftly.

German developer Gameforge signed a deal today to publish free-to-play, casual online browser games based on the Star Trek license. This represents the first high-level worldwide license Gameforge has acquired, previously being known for numerous original casual browser and client games such as Ikariam, Gladiatus and the incredibly popular Metin2. Gameforge said in their press release that the Star Trek license represents “the start of Gameforge’s global AAA expansion”. No word as of yet on what type of gameplay might be represented.

To take a look at some of the other games developed by Gameforge, and perhaps peer into the future of Star Trek gaming online, go to MMOGame.
